Eoin O'Connell

Eoin received a NCEA Diploma in Electronics in 1996 from Limerick Institute of Technology and both Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and Telecommunication and PhD from University of Limerick in 2001 and 2012, respectively. During his PhD he was working on Wireless Sensors and Optical Fibres as a member of the Optical Fibre Sensors Research Centre.

Eoin is currently working as a Lecturer and Senior Technical Officer at the University of Limerick where he teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas of communication and networking. He is still a part of the Optical Fibre Sensors Research Centre and the Mobile and Marine Robotics Research Centre. He has been published at numerous IEE conferences and journals.

Another one of Eoin's functions in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at University of Limerick was to establish a Cisco Networking Academy for the delivery of industry accredited training to both staff & students and third party companies.
