Christos Constantinou

Christos C. Constantinou is a Ph.D candidate since 2013, working with Prof. Savvas G. Loizou at the Robotics Control and Decision Systems Laboratory of the Cyprus University of Technology. He received his Diploma and MSc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Patras – Greece in 2013. His main research interests focus on the areas of autonomous navigation and control, multi-agent coordination and task planning with applications in autonomous underwater multi-vehicle systems.

Christos is a student member of IEEE, IEEE Young Professionals, IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society, IEEE Control Systems Society, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and a professional member of the Technical Chamber of Cyprus.

He is currently a visiting graduate student at the Mobile and Marine Robotics Research Centre (MMRRC), University of Limerick.

Yesica Lopez

Yesica Lopez was born in Alicante , Spain, in 1990. She is currently studying for a degree in Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, Alcoy, Spain. She is currently finishing her third year.

Yesica is working as an Erasmus+ Traineeship trainee at the MMRRC from June to September 2017, where she is using myRIO hardware and LabVIEW software to develop a control system for ROV Self Balancing Robot.

Laetitia Pasquette

Laetitia Pasquette was born in Brest, France, in 1995. She is currently studying Electronics and Digital Technology at the department of engineering at the Graduate School of the University of Nantes, France. She is currently finishing her fourth year.

Laetitia is doing an internship at the MMRRC research group for three months during the summer of 2017 in order to do an investigation of an RF based localisation system for shipborne UAV operations, to include field testing.

Baptiste Grillere

Baptiste GRILLERE was born in Grenoble France, in 1995. He is currently studying Electrical and Computer Engineering, and is in his fourth year at the Graduate School of Engineering of Polytech Lille, France. Baptiste is specializing in autonomous embedded systems.

Baptiste is doing an internship at the MMRRC research group for two months during the summer of 2017.

Etienne Jenner

Etienne Jenner was born near Paris, in 1995. He is currently working towards his Master's Degree in Electronics and Computing in IMT Atlantique University in Brest, France. IMT Atlantique provides a general degree in telecommunications.

Etienne is doing an internship at the MMRRC research group for a month during the summer of 2017.

Jakub Osmic

Jakub Osmic is an associate professor of Control Systems, Instrumentation and Actuators for Automation of Manufacturing at Faculty of Electrical Engineering - University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the moment, the focus of his research is Control Systems for Wind Energy Conversion Systems.

From 1995 to 1997 Jakub worked with the TMD-AI CIMOS – Factory for production of parts for automotive industry, as engineer for maintenance of CNC machines. From 1997 to 2003 he worked with the University Clinical Center, Tuzla as engineer for maintenance of medical equipment and as physicists for radiotherapy, and since 2003 Jakub has been with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He received the diploma engineer degree in Electrical Engineering in 1996 from the University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jakub earned his MSc degree from the University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2003, with the master thesis dealing with Design of an Optimal Fuzzy Logic Controller Using Response Surface Methodology (experimental methodology). He earned his PhD degree from the same university, with the thesis dealing with Stability, Optimality and Robustness of Fuzzy Logic Controllers in 2008.

Jakub has over 40 publications in the refereed conference proceedings and journals, he is also the author and coauthor of two books from the field of automatic control. Jakub was taking part in or leading a number of research and development projects funded by the governmental and nongovernmental bodies (government scientific funds of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, EU, and multinational companies).

Paul Dardenne

Paul Dardenne was born in Melbourne Australia, in 1995. He is currently studying in fifth year of Master Degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Graduate School of Engineering of Lille, France. Paul is specializing in controlled systems and industrial process and worked for French companies on the improvement of different industrial machines.

Paul is working as an Erasmus+ Traineeship trainee at MMRRC research group during autumn semester of 2016. He is designing and building motion control rigs for educational purpose. These rigs will be used by UL Electronic Engineering students for their motion control modules.

Florian Fortin

Florian Fortin was born in Tours, in central France, in 1994. He is currently working towards a Master's Degree in Electronics at the Graduate School of Engineering of the University of Tours, France. Florian is specializing in electronics and energy fields. and working on the realization of an electric kart.

Florian is doing an internship at MMRRC research group during the summer of 2016. He is developing an application using Unity 3D software to follow the real-time motions of several devices (marine vessels, drones and ROVs) in the Limerick Docks. He developed his skills in computer science in particular with object orientated languages.

Thibault Boullier

Thibault was born in Gien, in central France, in 1993. He is currently studying Electronics & Electrical Energy Systems Options at the Graduate School of Engineering of the Polytech Tours, France. During his studies, Thibault specialized in the electronics systems and energy field.

Thibault is doing an internship at MMRRC research group during the summer of 2016. He is working on the simulation of different objects and ROV's motions on a 3D Scene of Limerick Docks.

Andre Silva

Andre Silva was born in 1990 in Sao Vicente, a city near Sao Paulo in Brazil. He is studying Instrumentation, Control and Automation Engineering in Univercidade Federal do ABC, Brazil, and is currently on a one year Erasmus exchange programme at the University of Limerick.

Andre is working as an Erasmus Traineership trainee at MMRRC research group from March. He is using LabVIEW software to develop a control system for UAV multicopter.

Dean Shanahan

Dean Shanahan was born in 1994 in Kilkenny, Ireland. He has just completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Limerick with a thesis titled “Design, Build and Analyse a Tricopter Flight Control System” under the supervision of Dr Daniel Toal, Dr Joseph Coleman and Dr John Clifford.

Dean has spent almost a year working for a UAV manufacturer in Germany and supported the build of several fixed wing and multirotor type UAV designs. He hopes to continue his work with UAVs at the MMRRC, where he is currently completing an internship.

Valerio Saverino

Valerio Saverino was born in 1991 in Chiaravalle, a small town in the middle east of Italy. In 2014, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and Automation Engineering from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy) with his thesis titled “Performance evaluation of the Kinect v2 sensor”. He is currently studying at the same university to obtain his Master's Degree.

Valerio is working as an Erasmus+ Traineership trainee at MMRRC research group. The aim of his work in MMRRC is to implement an algorithm to let a robot arm achive a certain target.

Alessio Spaziani

Alessio Spaziani was born in 1990 in Pistoia, a city near Florence in Italy. He graduated in 2014, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Firenze (Italy), with a thesis titled “Design and Construction of a Beacon Flash for the AUV MARTA”. He is continuing his study on the same University to obtain a Master's Degree.

Alessio is working as an Erasmus+ Traineeship trainee at the MMRRC research group from March 2016. He is building a control system for UAV multicopter using software such as LabVIEW to develop a simulation environment.

Giovanni Scortichini

Giovanni Scortichini was born in 1990 in Jesi, in the middle east of Italy. He graduated in 2014 receiving his Bachelor's Degree in “Informatics and Automatic Engineering” from the Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona(Italy), with a thesis titled “Design and development of a sensory wired node for galvanic current measuring". He is continuing his study on the same University to obtain the Master's Degree.

Giovanni is working as an Erasmus+ Traineeship trainee at the MMRRC research group from January 2016. His work in the MMRRC is based on building real-time 2D image mosaicking and calibration software using C++ , OpenCV Libraries and LabVIEW.

Martin Klöhn

Martin was born in Germany near the Baltic sea in a town called Anklam. He graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Applied Informatics from the Hochschule Wismar (Germany) in 2015. During his studies he worked at the Hochschule Wismar as a tutor for network security management lab. He supervised students during the exercises of penetration tests. Furthermore, Martin developed several mobile applications for android devices. Some of these applications were built with UNITY3D.

After his studies in Germany he visited the MMRRC research group at the University of Limerick. His aim was to improve his skills in working with 3D and object orientated languages. His work in the MMRRC was based on building 3D Simulations for the ROV Latis with UNITY 3D and C#. He also built a full 3D scene of the Limerick Dock plus a checksum calculation for data structures for future projects.

Furthermore, Martin is interested in new technologies, modern devices and security issues. One of his big visions is to build the workplace of the future.

Simon Lechat

Simon Lechat was born in Le Mans, in the west of France, in 1993. In 2016, he received his Master’s Degree in Electronics from the Graduate School of Engineering of the University of Nantes. During his studies, specializing in the embedded systems, Simon developed two skill areas: real-time software and the hardware part with microprocessors and digital circuit (FPGA).

He worked as an internship student at the MMRRC lab from June to August 2015, where he developed a microcontroller board interfacing to MEMs IMU sensor, GPS module and general-purpose I/O (digital and analog) with the hardware and the associated firmware.

Simon is currently working as an engineer in digital electronics. He is developing circuits for aeronautics systems which are implemented on FPGA devices.

Eros Ciabattoni

Eros Ciabattoni was born in San Benedetto del Tronto, in the middle east of Italy, in 1992. He received his Bachelors Degree in “Informatics and Automatic Engineering” at the Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona, with a thesis titled “Design and implementation of localization algorithms of a mobile wheelchair in structured environment”. He is currently studying at the same university in order to take also the Masters Degree.

Eros worked as an Erasmus+ Traineeship trainee at the MMRC research group from June to August 2015, where he developed an environment of simulation for the ROV Latis using UNITY 3D, C# and LabVIEW.
