Dr. Muzaffar Rao obtained B.E. degree in Electronic from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), Karachi, Pakistan and M.E. degree in Electrical (Specialization in Telecommunication) from NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, Pakistan in 2005 and 2009 respectively. He finished his PhD at the University of Limerick, Ireland, under the supervision of Dr Thomas Newe in the Center for Robotics & Intelligent Systems (CRIS) in January, 2017. His PhD research work was about proposing a Bump In The Wire (BITW) security solution to provide a secure communication between ROV and control station. He has numerous publications in internationally reputed conferences and Journals. He started working as Postdoctoral Researcher with CRIS at the University of Limerick in January, 2018.
His research interests include Information Security and Cryptography; FPGA based System Designs, Hardware solutions of Cryptographic Applications, Digital Systems Design and Bump In The Wire Technology design for security specially in marine based systems.
