An interest in technology from a young age, no doubt fuelled by sci-fi and cartoons, led Damian to a degree in mechatronic engineering at Dublin City University and ultimately research in the area of robotics. In the past, Damian worked on an agricultural application, included the use of data fusion techniques to improve mapping to aid in the placement of milking cups onto cows udders. From there he moved into the area of internet of things. Based at Trinity College Dublin he managed a radio network, from hardware deployment to backend maintenance and customisation. He currently works with CRIS on a medical robotics industrial partnership project.
